Press release from IPFW:

Expanded agreement gives IPFW and Ivy Tech students more options

Chancellors for both Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) and Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast want to make it easier for students to “cross the road” between the two institutions of higher education.

At a news conference this morning (Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010), Ivy Tech-Northeast Chancellor Jerrilee Mosier announced two programs that will begin in 2011. “Ivy Tech’s admissions application will have a check box allowing prospective students to apply to both Ivy Tech and IPFW at the same time. Their admission to IPFW will be delayed until they actually transfer across the street,” said Mosier. “Both of our financial aid offices will be working together to award financial aid to our Crossroads students at their primary campus of attendance.” IPFW Chancellor Wartell noted the expanded agreement will allow the schools to develop even more partnerships in the future. “We already have articulation agreements for 26 academic programs between our schools, we share a Military Student Services coordinator, and we have academic advisors spending half their time at Ivy Tech working with students who plan to transfer to IPFW. Besides that, Ivy Tech Crossroads students can live in our student housing, and take part in our intramural sports leagues. Beyond that, the possibilities of future collaborations are practically endless,” said Wartell.
