Ivy Tech Community College launches online video service to help students understand financial aid
(INDIANAPOLIS, November 10, 2010) – Ivy Tech Community College is using an online video service to improve financial aid awareness and help students find the answers to common financial aid questions. The counseling service called Financial Aid TV will help students better understand college financial aid and the steps needed to apply for aid.
“It is important for us to keep our students informed about financial aid and expand our customer service so they can receive any aid they may be eligible for,” said Ivy Tech Chief Student Financial Resources Officer Ben Burton. “Many of our students rely on financial aid to attend college, and FATV will help students find the answers they need to better comprehend the financial aid process.”
The online video format will expand Ivy Tech’s outreach and reduce student wait times by providing customer service that is accessible on the web 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Short video clips provide easy-to-understand answers to nearly 150 frequently asked questions. Examples of common financial aid questions include:
- How can I pay for college?
- How do I know if I qualify for financial aid?
- When should I fill out a FAFSA?
- What is a Pell Grant?
- Are there financial aid programs for Veterans of the US Armed Forces?
