Senior Circle Partners with Area Organizations to Offer Tea with Grandma

(November 8, 2010) – On Thursday, Nov. 11, fancy hats, gloves and boas will be donned by generations of girls and women for a classic tea party. Senior Circle, a Lutheran Health Network program for older adults, has collaborated with the LaSalle Bed & Breakfast Inn and the Fort Wayne Ballet to provide a special opportunity for Senior Circle members and their grandchildren to enjoy Tea with Grandma. The tea party will take place at the LaSalle Bed & Breakfast Inn, 517 W. Washington Blvd., near St. Joseph Hospital, from 1 to 3 p.m.

The tea party will feature special guests from the Fort Wayne Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker, including Clara and some of her friends from the Kingdom of the Sweets. Grandmothers may bring one or two grandchildren ages 4 or older to partake in tea or hot chocolate and special treats prepared by Marie Margaret Gill and Rose Aimee Butler.

“Senior Circle is pleased to partner with LaSalle Bed & Breakfast, our downtown neighbor, and Fort Wayne Ballet to offer this special opportunity,” said Coleen Arribasplata, coordinator of the Senior Circle Program, Lutheran Health Network. “Tea with Grandma debuted last year, and we had an overwhelming response from Senior Circle members, so we hope to have another full house.”
