ACDP reminds voters, supporters it’s all in their hands now

(October 31, 2010) – Early voting ends noon Monday, polls open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday; party offering rides to the polls Allen County, Indiana – The polls in Allen County, Indiana, open for Election Day voting in less than 36 hours, and the Allen County Democratic Party reminds voters and supporters the results of elections are decided by the people go to the polls.

“TV ads don’t vote. Yard signs don’t vote. Mailers don’t vote. It’s you and me, the people who care enough about our community, state and country to take the time to make our voices heard by 6 p.m. Tuesday at the polls,” said Mike Bynum, ACDP chair. “If you need a ride to your polling location, please call the party’s headquarters at 478-8239 to arrange for a ride. Everyone who wants to vote should have the opportunity.”

Early voting continues 8 a.m. to noon Monday at the Election Board office in the City-County Building, One Main St., Fort Wayne. Polling locations throughout Allen County are open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday. Those voting early or on Election Day need to bring a photo ID that is either current or expired after Nov. 4, 2008. In most cases, an Indiana’s driver’s license, Indiana photo ID card, military ID or U.S. passport meets the state’s photo ID requirement.

Party supporters are invited to join local candidates and party leadership for the free ACDP Election Night gathering with refreshments starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 166 Hall, 2930 W. Ludwig Road.
