Press release from the City of Fort Wayne:

River Levels Lowered to Assist with Bridge Construction
Lowering begins Monday

Water levels in the City’s rivers will be lower beginning Monday. The lowering will assist with two bridge construction projects.

The Indiana Department of Transportation is constructing the Martin Luther King Memorial Bridge (Clinton Street) and the Allen County Highway Department will be working on the Tecumseh Street Bridge while the river levels are down.

On Monday, October 11, 2010, the Tainter Gate on the Hosey Dam will be raised and water levels in the Maumee, St. Joe and St. Marys rivers will begin to recede. The process should take two to three days.
