Heartland Chamber Chorale Collects Funds to Feed Hungry
(September 29, 2010) – On October 9 and 10 Heartland Chamber Chorale will begin its 14th season featuring the music of great American composers, including Robert Hobby, Fort Wayne native and Director of Music at Trinity English Lutheran Church. HCC is committed to this community and so are helping to provide food for those in need. For every ticket purchased between Oct 1 and October 6, for the season opening concerts the HCC will donate $5 to Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana.
Due to the buying power of Community Harvest Food Bank those donations will increase the amount of food available for distribution beyond what an individual can provide by spending the same amount of money at the grocery store; often doubling and even tripling the amount.
The concerts are:
- Saturday October 9, 2010 @ 8:00PM in the Lincoln Auditorium at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art
- Sunday October 10, 2010 @ 4:00PM in the Plymouth Congregational Church UCC
Tickets are normally $20; for this special offer all tickets are $15. To purchase tickets for the October 9th or 10th concert and donate $5 to Community Harvest Food Bank call the Heartland Chamber Chorale box office at 436-8080. You must mention Community Harvest Food Bank to receive the discount.
About the Heartland Chamber Chorale
The Heartland Chamber Chorale officially came into being in 1997 with the appointment of Robert Nance as Music Director. Under Maestro Nance, the Chorale is recognized as one of the finest choral ensembles of its kind in the region. Based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the ensemble consists of approximately 28 auditioned paid professional singers from Fort Wayne and the Northeast Indiana region.According to our bylaws “…the purpose of the HCC is to perform quality choral chamber music to enrich audiences of the Fort Wayne community, northeast Indiana region and beyond with a goal to serve as a professional, community educational resource for matters pertaining to the art of chamber choral music.”

Community Harvest Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in northeast Indiana, annually distributing nearly 10 million pounds of food.
