Press release from the Fort Wayne Women’s Bureau:

Be a part of the debate for the open House seat in NE Indiana

Residents of Northeast Indiana have the opportunity to be an integral part of the debate between candidates for the district’s next member of the House of Representatives.

The Women’s Bureau and the newly re-formed League of Women Voters are soliciting voters to provide the questions WANE TV’s anchors Mark Mellinger and Heather Herron will ask of Marlin Stutzman, Tom Hayhurst and Scott Wise. The debate, which is co-sponsored by WANE, the Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics, Women’s Bureau and League of Women Voters, will air on October 12 at 7 p.m. from the Rhinehart Center at IPFW.

Voters are being asked to submit questions to the Women’s Bureau or League by signing onto their websites at: www.womensbureau.com or www.lwvfw.org and clicking on the links to emails for Jeanette Dillon (Women’s Bureau) or Nancy McCammon-Hansen (LWV)

Deadline for submitting questions is October 1, 2010.

Questions should :

  1. be about issues affecting northern Indiana
  2. show the differences between the candidates
  3. show no bias in tone

In short, what do voters want to know about these three men in order to make an INFORMED decision at the polls in November.

In addition to being broadcast live, the debate will be streamed live on wane.com. The debate will include pre-submitted voter questions, answers from the candidates, follow up questions from the moderators and closing statements.
