Press release from the Fort Wayne Urban Enterprise Association:

(August 31, 2010) – The Fort Wayne Enterprise Center has announced the graduation of Chadwick Designs from its business incubator. Chad Shelton, Chadwick President, indicated that he will move the company into a larger facility north of Fort Wayne in September. Chadwick Designs is a manufacturer of caseworks such as wood and plastic laminate cabinets, reception desks and nurse stations. Mr. Shelton reports that his 9-employee company is on track this year to produce record sales of more than $2 million. “We are doing projects from coast to coast while continuing to provide great service and products to our local contractors. Our managed growth plan has led us to having our own building.”

Shelton started his business at Enterprise Center in 1999; his first year gross income was $28,000. The Enterprise Center has been vital to his business growth. “The Enterprise Center was very instrumental in our growth from the beginning. They have always been able to connect us to the right people and provide essential business amenities that new startups can’t always afford.”

The Fort Wayne Enterprise Center has a 50,000 square foot facility with available space ranging from 100 to 6,500 square feet. The Center is a small business incubator which provides manufacturing and production, research and development, and general office space. High speed Internet access, a centralized receptionist, and access to financing are among the many services provided at little or no additional charge. By being located in the Enterprise Zone, the Enterprise Center offers its tenants access to tax credits and other business incentives.
