Press release from Fort Wayne Community Schools:

Blackhawk, Memorial Park boost FWCS ISTEP+ results

Blackhawk and Memorial Park middle school students outpaced the state at every level of the results
that were delayed because of a scoring glitch earlier this year. When ISTEP+ results were released
in June, Fort Wayne Community Schools’ data was incomplete because Blackhawk was not included in
the sixth- and eighth-grade results, and Memorial Park was not included in eighth-grade results.

The results are now in, showing passing rates increased at each grade level and in both subjects.
Those results boosted the district’s overall results.

“When we released the ISTEP+ results earlier this summer, we knew the data was
incomplete,” Superintendent Wendy Robinson said. “With Blackhawk and Memorial Park’s
results now calculated, we wanted to take a moment to congratulate the staff, students and parents
who make our schools so successful. While these schools typically outpace the state, we are proud
that they continue to improve on their success. Our schools are focused on making sure every child,
in every building is educated to high standards.”
