Fort Wayne Welcomes the Return of USSSA and AYBT

(July 6, 2010) – Fort Wayne is ecstatic to once again host the USSSA (United States Specialty Sports Association) Boy’s National Championship and the American Youth Basketball Tour (AYBT) this summer!

The USSSA Championship kicks off Fort Wayne’s basketball fever July 9th-12th with their first session for grades 3-7. And then, they will be holding their second session of this National Championship July 28th-31st for grades 8-11. Be sure to make your way out to Spiece Fieldhouse to meet the who’s who of high school basketball! College recruiters will be on site discovering new high school talents of today. In addition, there will be an awesome slam dunk contest that you will not want to miss! Each visit from USSSA is expected to bring around 4,500 visitors to Fort Wayne!

In addition, AYBT will be bringing their basketball tour to Spiece Fieldhouse, as well as other area courts in Fort Wayne, during July 17th-25th. Approximately 8,000 visitors will be along to see this great week of 5-on-5 youth basketball!

 

About the United States Specialty Sports Association:
The USSSA is a national organization that organizes leagues and tournaments in various sports. They are grade and age-oriented for boys and girls grades 3-11. website

About the American Youth Basketball Tour:
AYBT is a non-profit, grade-based summer developmental youth basketball program for boys and girls. Their mission is to aid in the development of individual player skills, team skills, and social skills. They currently operate in 15 states, primarily in the Midwest. website
