Mayor Henry congratulates AT&T for sponsoring Fourth of July fireworks
Annual event to be held again at IPFW

(June 30, 2010) – Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry congratulated AT&T for its continued sponsorship of the annual Fourth of July fireworks celebration on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.

“For many of us, fireworks are the high point of our annual Fourth of July holiday,” Mayor Henry said. “Through AT&T’s generosity, this much-anticipated, free Independence Day display will remain a community tradition in 2010. Our thanks go to AT&T for keeping the enjoyment and the excitement alive.”

In November 2009, AT&T acquired Centennial Wireless, the lead sponsor of the event for the previous six years.

The 30-minute fireworks display will start at approximately 10 p.m. The pyrotechnics will launch from IPFW’s north parking garage.

The IPFW Alumni Association will once again offer the Rooftop Party at the south parking garage starting at 6 p.m. The Alumni Association party is $5 per vehicle with proceeds going to the Children of Alumni Scholarship Fund.
