Press release from El Mexicano Newspaper:

A Celebration of Independence and a benefit for the Jorgé Gonzalez Kidney Transplant cause will occur at a family fun festival this July 4th Weekend

On Saturday, July 3, from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM, there will be a “Celebration of Independence” day at Fort Wayne’s Foster Park. This Fourth of July weekend event will be a benefit for the Jorgé Gonzalez kidney transplant fund.

The independence celebration will be held at and around the Foster Park Pavilion.

This is a free event and open to the public.

Donations and food sales will benefit 17-year old Jorgé Gonzalez, who is awaiting a kidney transplant to be performed at the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent’s in Indianapolis. In the past two years, more than $78,000 has been raised through individual donations and community events, such as “Celebracion de Independencia.”

This Independence Celebration will be a family fun festival. It will include live music, games, Latino food, folkloric dancing, and more.

El Mexicano Newspaper is the event sponsor. Event organizers are the Jorgé Gonazalez Kidney Transplant Fundraising Planning Committee members.
This is an opportunity to celebrate independence and benefit a worthy cause, while enjoying a festival.
