FWDC’s 2010 Summer Dance Intensive focuses on teaching children and adults with disabilities

(June 29, 2010) – The Fort Wayne Dance Collective is proud to present our 2010 Summer Intensive, July 26-30. Furthering our recent work at Pathfinders, Turnstone Center, ARC, and Bi-County Services, and our focus on developing movement teachers, we are bringing in special guest artist Vicki Millar, a renowned teacher of children and adults with mental and physical disabilities to lead a five-day session about teaching movement to this underserved population. Each morning class will be followed by a demonstration at each of the aforementioned organizations in the afternoon.

Millar will also teach an evening class in choreography for budding choreographers or those who want to improve their skill in creating dance.

Tuition is just $200 for the full schedule of events, or $50 for the evening choreography sessions only.

Guest Artist Vicki Millar comes to us from Livermore CA., but she is an Indiana Native. She holds a Master of Arts degree from Brigham Young University and has been a teacher of various movement form to diverse populations for 30 years. While in Indiana she was very active as a movement teacher for Very Special Arts of Indiana.
