July Classes for Children
Deadlines Approaching

The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department is offering the following July classes for children:

Gummy, Gluey, Messy Fun, Registration deadline: July 1
Participants will have the opportunity to make up a different magical mixture to play with each week and create beautiful masterpieces using paint, crayons, syrup, foam and more! At least one parent or other adult is required to participate with each child. Class is Thursday evenings 5:30 – 6:15 pm (Ages 1 ½ – 3) and 6:30 – 7:15 pm (Ages 3-5) from July 8 – July 29. Fee: $31. Location: Conklin Pavilion, Shoaff Park, 6401 St. Joe Rd.

Shake, Rattle and Roll, Registration deadline: July 5
These games, activities and exercises are designed to use up excess energy while children learn important social skills and make new friends. At least one parent or other adult is required to participate with each child. Class meets Mondays, July 12 – August 2, 9 – 9:45 am (Ages 1 ½ – 3) and 10 – 10:45 am (Ages 3-5). Fee: $24. Location: Arlington Elementary, 8118 St. Joe Center Rd.

Junior Survivor, Registration deadline: July 6
Children will leave the TV and video games behind for fun, friends and adventure with Survivor challenges, crafts and treats. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Ages: 8-12. Class meets Monday, July 12 – Thursday, July 15, from 9 – 11 am. Fee: $44. Location: Psi Ote Upper, Bob Arnold Park, State & Parnell.

Gooey, Slimy, Weird, Fun, Registration deadline: July 6
Participants can get dirty, messy, gooey and slimy as they mix various concoctions of glue, liquid starch, corn syrup, peanut butter, honey and more in a quest to create at least three unique treasures to take home. Class meets Tuesdays, July 13 – 27, 9 – 10:15 am (Ages 5-8) and 10:30 – 11:45 am (Ages 8-12). Fee $24. Location: Community Center, 233 W Main St.
