(May 21, 2010) – The Fort Wayne TinCaps’ game against the West Michigan Whitecaps was delayed by rain three times before being suspended in the top of the 2nd inning Friday at Parkview Field. The game will be resumed Saturday as part of a doubleheader beginning at 5:05 p.m.

Gates open Saturday at Parkview Field at 4:05 p.m. Myron Noodleman will perform and a post-game fireworks show will ensue after the second game.

The first game will pick up in the top of the 2nd inning with no score, nobody out and a 3-2 count on West Michigan’s Jordan Lennerton. The game is scheduled for nine innings. Approximately 30 minutes after the completion of Game 1, a second game will begin, scheduled for seven innings.

Heavy rain in downtown Fort Wayne subsided at approximately 6:00 p.m. Friday and the grounds crew had the field ready for first pitch at 7:21 p.m. After a half-inning, the downpours returned and a 58-minute rain delay ensued. Another half-inning was played before a third delay of 31 minutes ended with the suspension of the night’s play.

Tickets for Friday’s game can be exchanged for tickets to any regular-season home game for the rest of the 2010 season, subject to availability.
