Fort Wayne District Releases April Statistics

(May 20, 2010) – The Indiana State Police in Fort Wayne have released statistics for the month of April 2010. Troopers issued 2300 traffic citations and 3524 traffic warnings. Troopers also arrested 86 drunk drivers and made 142 criminal arrests.

  • Traffic Warnings Issued – 3,524
  • Seatbelt Citations – 511
  • Child Restraint Citations – 18
  • Speeding Trucks Over 10,000 Pounds – 67
  • Criminal Arrests – 142
  • Drunk Driving Arrests – 86

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Fort Wayne Post worked 27 new cases and made 24 criminal arrests, all of which were felony arrests. There were a total of 121 cases drawn by both troopers and detectives.Master Trooper Gary Shenefield, his K-9 partner Beau, Senior Trooper Brad Shultz, his K-9 partner Gunnar and Trooper Shane Neuenschwander and his K-9 partner Smokey had between them, a total of 32 searches which yielded 20 arrests, assisted other agencies on five occasions and seized 83 grams of marijuana.

The Indiana State Police Post in Fort Wayne serves the citizens in the following nine northeast Indiana Counties: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley.
