Local Museum Curator Receives 2010 Lt. Governor’s Hoosier Hospitality Award
The Indiana Office of Tourism Development and the Fort Wayne Convention and Visitors Bureau are pleased to announce that Hana Stith of the African/African-American Historical Museum has been chosen to receive a 2010 Lt. Governor’s Hoosier Hospitality Award.
She was awarded this honor at the Indiana Statehouse on Monday, May 10 by the Lt. Governor.
Nominated by the Fort Wayne Convention and Visitors Bureau, Hana was chosen for her dedication to Fort Wayne and our hospitality industry.
Stories of Hana Stith’s hospitality, warmth and generosity are regular occurrences here in Fort Wayne. Her passion and care is felt by all visitors that walk through the museum’s doors, and her fervor for educating people, especially children, about African?American history is clear.
“With Hana Stith, you get so much more than merely a passive curator. She provides a level of hospitality that is rare to find these days; it is natural, genuine and personable,” cites Dan O’Connell, CVB President. “As one of the founding members of the museum, she is truly invested in the mission and sharing its message. Ms. Hana Stith goes the extra mile to make visitors feel welcome and plays an essential role in the success of tourism here in Allen County and we were delighted that she was able to receive this honor during 2010, the Museum’s 10th anniversary year.
