It’s time to start gardens and add color to landscaping. It’s time for the Botanical Conservatory’s three-day plant extravaganza at Foellinger Theatre in Franke Park!
- Friday, May 7, 4 – 7 pm
- Saturday, May 8, 9 am – 5 pm
- Sunday, May 9, noon – 4 pm
Hundreds of varieties of plants will be available for purchase. There will be herbs, tomatoes and other vegetable starts along with the usual great quality annuals, perennials, tropicals, color bowls, mixed containers and hanging baskets. These sturdy plants are grown by the Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department and sold as a fundraiser to support quality programming at the Conservatory. The supply is replenished throughout the weekend, but come early for the best selection because it won’t last forever. Volunteers will be on hand to assist you in plant selection and loading. Free, convenient parking, restrooms and refreshments. Sponsored by WAJI Majic 95.1 FM, PBS 39 and Media 401.
Conservatory members get first pick of the crop at the Member’s Sale on Thursday, May 6, 4 – 7 pm. Memberships will be available for purchase that evening for those who want to beat the crowd and get the best selection. Conservatory memberships are valid for a year from the date of purchase. Membership allows free admission, a 10% discount in the Tulip Tree Gift Shop, and reciprocal benefits at over 200 gardens around the country. Individual membership $35; Family membership $50.
