CANI honors individuals, company with awards

(May 3, 2010) – CANI (Community Action of Northeast Indiana) will honor several individuals and a company for their commitment to CANI, May 4th at an awards ceremony at Ceruti’s Summit Park in Fort Wayne.

Outgoing United Way of Allen County Executive Director Jerry Peterson will be awarded the William G. Williams Award, in recognition for his commitment to helping communities, families, and individuals remove the conditions of poverty.

Nicole Easley and Angie Freiburger are recipients of the Hope Builder Award, an honor bestowed on a client who has made great strides towards self-sufficiency.

Kristen Itt is a recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award, in recognition for time and talent pledged to the organization.

D. Rogers Weatherization will be awarded the Partnership Award for going above and beyond the contractor relationship.

The awards are in correlation with CANI RECAP, the organization’s annual meeting.
