Press release from the Allen County Board of Commissioners:

New Leesburg Road Bridge Opens Ahead of Schedule
Cost of constructing the span expected to be within budget

(April 30, 2010) – With two weeks to spare, the Allen County Highway Department today opened the new Leesburg Road Bridge.

Construction work on the new structure started on January 18. It was originally expected to be finished by May 14. Highway Department officials credit good weather with helping accelerate the work.

The new three-span bridge totaling 60 and a-half feet in length is located over the Seegar Ditch between Flaugh and O’Day Roads.

R.L. McCoy, Inc. of Columbia City was awarded the project after submitting the low bid of $397,000. While a final cost has not been determined, Highway Department officials expect the amount to be within budget.
