Metropolitan Human Relations Commission press conference video

Video from today’s Metropolitan Human Relations Commission press conference to announce that an agreement had been reached regarding the Ricker’s Oil incident relating to a “No Burmese Allowed” sign posted in their laundromat a few weeks ago.

A very interesting press conference.  The big question, that was unanswered, was what exactly happened.  Listen closely to what the Ricker’s Oil Director of Operations says, which is echoed on the official Ricker’s Oil website:

…an employee at one of our facilities in Fort Wayne, Indiana responded in an unfortunate way to a situation the employee found both alarming and dangerous, not only to our facilities, but to our other valued patrons and employees.

The question as to what exactly the “alarming and dangerous” situation entailed went unanswered.  Patrick Proctor, Attorney and Board Member of the Burmese Advocacy Center later alluded to the chewing and spitting of beetle nuts, but refused to provide details and phrased it as his understanding.

I’d encourage you, if nothing else to watch the question and answer segments, 3 and 4.
