(March 30, 2010) Just in time for the April -National Volunteer Month celebration, the Volunteer Center announces the availability of 2010 Volunteer Guides. The FREE 40 page booklet offers a comprehensive guide to service opportunities in the Allen County area.

The booklet offers both new and traditional volunteer opportunities that will assist individuals, groups and businesses in our community. Volunteer opportunities are listed from A (Animals) to Z (Zoo).

“The goal is to make volunteerism and community service part of the daily lives of all Allen County residents. It is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. It’s about demonstrating that by working together, in unison, we have the fortitude to meet our challenges and accomplish our goals” explains Jean Joley, Executive Director.

Booklets are available at the main Library and all Allen County Public Library branches, the Mayor’s office, Congressman Mark Souder’s office, Fort Wayne Visitors and Convention Bureau and at the Volunteer Center offices at 3401 Lake Ave., Suite 4., Fort Wayne, IN.
