Press release from Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation:

Arbor and Earth Day Celebration and Tree Planting

The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with Trees Indiana, a local non-profit, youth-oriented tree education group for this 3rd annual all-in-one tree-planting/nature loving celebration. Bring the whole family to Franke Park on Saturday, April 24, 10 am – 2 pm and have fun while learning how to “green up” Fort Wayne, including valuable information about tree planting and pruning, composting and rain gardens.

There will be games and crafts for the kids and they’ll receive a free tree seedling they can plant at home and enjoy for years to come. Green Shopping Guides will be available for adults. Admission is free, so come out to enjoy the company of other nature-minded individuals.

For more information about this program, please call the Parks and Recreation Department at 427-6000 or visit www.fortwayneparks.org.
