Press release from the City of Fort Wayne:

City to Adjust River Levels

The City of Fort Wayne will re-establish river levels to the normal summer levels beginning Thursday April 15, 2010. The Tainter Gate on Hosey Dam – on the Maumee River at Anthony Boulevard – will be closed early Thursday morning and river levels on the three rivers throughout the City will rise over the next two days.

This is a normal procedure established by the Board of Works that takes place every year on April 15th.

Residents will notice the level rising along the Maumee, the St. Joe from the dam at Johnny Appleseed Park and the St. Marys to about the Foster Park area.
