Press release from Fort Wayne Community Schools dated March 10, 2010:

North Side hosts benefit game

North Side High School will host an Alumni Benefit Basketball Game – on Saturday, March 20,2010 – with proceeds going to the son of former Redskin, Jeron Lewis, who passed on Jan. 14, 2010. Jeron died of an enlarged heart on the basketball court at the University of Southern Indiana.

There will be men’s and women’s games as part of the benefit. The women will play first at 5 p.m in the By Hey Arena at North Side, 475 E. State Blvd. Men will play at 7 p.m. There will also be a raffle, including a basketball signed by IU Coach Tom Crean, a slam dunk contest and a performance by North Side dancers, among other events. Admission to the benefit is $3.

The Redskin basketball family is partnering with many community organizations to provide a positive opportunity to unite for a great cause.
