Fort Wayne Mad Ants Celebrate Red Cross Month
Blood Donors will receive Mad Ants Tickets

(March 3, 2010) The American Red Cross will celebrate Red Cross month in March with Mad Ants Week at the Red Cross from Monday, March 8 through Sunday, March 14. Blood donors at the Fort Wayne Donor Center and the Lutheran Hospital Donor Center will receive two free tickets to Red Cross Night at the Mad Ants vs. the Maine Red Claws on Tuesday, March 16 and will entered into a drawing for two courtside tickets to the game. That night the Mad Ants will also host an American Red Cross blood drive from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Come to donate during the game day blood drive and receive an American Red Cross lanyard.

 

Mad Ants Week at the Red Cross locations and hours are:

Fort Wayne Donor Center: 1212 E. California Road (across from the Memorial Coliseum)

  • Monday, March 8 & Tuesday, March 9: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 10 & Thursday, March 11: 12 noon – 6 p.m.
  • Friday, March 12 & Saturday, March 13: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Lutheran Hospital Donor Center: 7900 W. Jefferson Blvd., Suite 107 (South Lobby of Lutheran Hospital)

  • Monday, March 8 – Thursday, March 11: 12 noon – 6 p.m.
  • Friday, March 12 & Saturday, March 13: 6 a.m. – 12 noon
  • Sunday, March 14: by appointment only

“During Red Cross Month, we want to recognize the valuable supporters whose generosity makes the work of the American Red Cross possible,” said Sharyn Whitman, CEO for the Indiana-Ohio Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross. “In addition, Red Cross Month is a great time for people to get involved with the Red Cross, such as donating blood; signing up for a CPR, first aid or another Red Cross course; giving a financial gift that can really save the day when the next disaster strikes, or getting involved as a volunteer.”
