Press release from INDOT:

U.S. 27 Northbound Lane Restriction Scheduled for Month of January, between Wildwood Avenue and Edgewood Avenue
U.S. 27 northbound restriction will not occur if snow removal equipment is present on highway

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Fort Wayne District announces that U.S. 27 northbound, between Wildwood Avenue and Edgewood Avenue (0.9 mile south of S.R. 930), is scheduled to have only one 12-foot lane closed at a time, beginning on Jan. 6, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., daily, through late January. If weather permits, some overnight work may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

This restriction will not occur if snow removal equipment is present on the highway.

A Verizon contractor will work on one manhole at a time, in a 3.5 mile stretch of U.S. 27. The project will begin near Wildwood Road and Lafayette Street and move north to Main Street and then to Lafayette Street/Spy Run and then to the intersection where Spy Run Avenue becomes Clinton Avenue. Work includes the extraction of cable to prepare for future fiber installation this year. Each manhole will require approximately two hours of work. Also, manholes are located in various lanes; therefore, exact lane closures cannot be specified.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution in the work zone areas.
