Press release from the City of Fort Wayne:
Community Service Council hosting follow-up session about stimulus funds
Departments, organizations to present updates on federal money coming to Fort Wayne(December 22, 2009) The City of Fort Wayne’s Community Service Council will host a follow-up forum about the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act at 6 p.m. Jan. 7 in City Council Chambers in the City-County Building. The meeting is open to the public.
Representatives from City Utilities, Parks, Police Department, Fire Department, greenways, Community Development, Fort Wayne Community Schools, Citilink, non-profits, small business and others are scheduled to give updates about how stimulus funds are being put to use in the Fort Wayne area.
“Our meeting in May was well attended and gave CSC members as well the general public an opportunity to find out how these federal dollars could be coming back to Fort Wayne and benefiting our community. Earlier this year many organizations and departments were waiting for decisions about grant applications. The January meeting will be an update as we have a better sense of what funding sources Fort Wayne will have,” said Beulah Stoker, CSC president.
CSC members had a lot of questions about the stimulus package, and we figured others did too so we are hosting a meeting where the public can learn about the different funding sources that are available from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and how that money can be used to benefit Fort Wayne,” said Beulah Stoker, CSC president.
In addition to the presentations, there will be a brief question and answer period.
