Press release from the TinCaps:
TinCaps’ Logo Named Best of the Year
Tin-capped apple snags praise from BallparkDigest.comThe Fort Wayne TinCaps’ apple logo was honored Wednesday by BallparkDigest.com as the national Co-Logo of the Year. The emblem debuted in October 2008 and has quickly become one of the most popular brands in Minor League Baseball.
“We liked the logo when we first announced the name change, and it’s been well-received,” TinCaps president Mike Nutter said. “The apple, the colors and the TinCaps name do a great job of conveying what this organization is all about: affordable fun for the whole family.”
The TinCaps’ apple mark was selected Co-Logo of the Year along with the swashbuckler logo of the Shreveport-Bossier (La.) Captains of the independent American Association.
Ballpark Digest’s article said, “We saw the appeal of the [TinCaps] brand during a June 2009 visit to Yellowstone National Park, where we saw not one, not two, but three different tourists wearing TinCaps apparel at different places in the park. That told us the logo was working.”
Local fans latched onto the label during the past year as well; TinCaps gear became common apparel around northeast Indiana.
“It’s really gratifying to see our logo and colors becoming so popular,” TinCaps Vice President of Marketing Michael Limmer said. “We owe a lot of thanks to the folks at Sky Design, who did a phenomenal job designing the new logo and color scheme.”
Fans can pick up TinCaps gear by visiting any of three team store locations: a holiday store at the Glenbrook Square Mall (located near the food court), the Orchard Team Store at Parkview Field and online at TinCaps.com. The Glenbrook Square location is open during all mall hours and the Parkview Field location is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
TinCaps 2010 ticket plans, group outings and picnics are on sale now. Visit TinCaps.com for more information.
