IN Senator Wyss: Help Available for Heating Homes This Season

An e-mail from Indiana Senator Tom Wyss:

Wyss: Help Available for Heating Homes This Season
State Program Offers Financial Assistance to Hoosier Households

State Sen. Tom Wyss (R-Fort Wayne) said low-income households can get help heating their homes this winter by applying to the state’s Energy Assistance Program.

Wyss said the program, managed by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, offers low-income households financial assistance to continue utility services during the winter heating season.

“This program is implemented throughout the state by Community Action agencies,” Wyss said. “Outreach offices operated by these agencies are located in every county and Hoosiers can contact these offices with questions regarding how the program works and the application process.”

Wyss said the energy assistance program has provided valuable home heating assistance to low-income families for years in northeast Indiana and is pleased to know that more money is available this year to help so many Hoosiers in need.

Wyss said the Community Action Agency outreach office in Fort Wayne is located at 227 E. Washington Blvd. Residents can also call the outreach office at (260) 423-3546.
