Carew clinic will be closed for the rest of the week

More than 350 people have already been vaccinated against H1N1 flu today at the Carew Medical Park clinic. The Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health will likely be out of H1N1 nasal spray vaccine by the end of the day.

The Carew clinic will be closed the remainder of the week. The health department anticipates receiving more H1N1 vaccine, both injectable and nasal spray vaccine, early next week and will make any announcements about clinics at that time. People should stay tuned to local media or visit www.FightTheFlu.org for more information.

About 6,800 people have been vaccinated for H1N1 flu since the clinic opened on Oct. 9. Parkview Health is providing space for the clinic at Carew Medical Park, a three-story building located at 1818 Carew Street.

Anyone experiencing symptoms of influenza should stay home or contact a healthcare provider. People can also limit the spread of the flu by washing their hands and covering their cough.
