United Way Women’s Initiative and Public Library host Free Childcare Providers’ Workshop

United Way of Allen County’s Women’s Initiative and the Allen County Public Library are inviting childcare providers located in the Hanna-Creighton neighborhood to attend a one-day workshop about early literacy development. The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hanna-Creighton Head Start, 2107 S. Hanna St.

Lunch will be provided and attendees will earn continuing education credits. Attendees also will receive a resource kit valued at approximately $300 filled with books and materials to help encourage early literacy skills. Registration is required by calling the library’s Branch Youth Services Coordinator Nancy Magi at 260.421.1260. The workshop is limited to the first thirty callers.

Funding for this workshop is provided by the United Way Women’s Initiative, a dedicated group of women that is focused on supporting early literacy skills for children living in the Hanna-Creighton neighborhood.
