Fort Wayne Community Schools press release:

One-hour delay for FWCS elementary schools on Oct. 22

Fort Wayne Community Schools’ elementary schools, with the exception of Bunche and Towles, will have a scheduled one-hour delay day Thursday, Oct. 22. Buses will run one hour later than normally scheduled for grades k-5 with school beginning at 9:50 a.m.

Morning pre-k students will attend from 9:50-11:30 a.m., arriving one-hour late with grades k-5 and leaving at their normal time. Afternoon pre-k students will attend school during their normal hours of 12:30-3:20 p.m.

Breakfast will be served when students arrive, and after-school programs will operate on their regular schedules. Parents should check with their school for morning activity schedules on delay days.

The six planned delay days for the 2009-10 school year provide valuable professional development time for staff. Future delay days are scheduled for Dec. 9, Jan. 27, Feb. 19, March 16 and May 12.

If there is a two-hour weather delay, that supersedes the professional development one-hour delay.
