Press release from the Fort Wayne-Allen County health Department:
Flu clinic to cut off line at 1:30 p.m. today
Anyone wanting to get vaccinated today at the H1N1 flu clinic at Carew Medical Park will need to be in line by 1:30 p.m. The turnout today is very heavy and the wait time is currently exceeding 4 hours.
An announcement about clinic hours for Tuesday will be made later today.
For now, the H1N1 injectable vaccine is the only vaccine being offered. The vaccine is being reserved for children six months through 18 years of age, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and caregivers of infants less than six months of age.
Parkview Health is providing space for the clinic at Carew Medical Park, a three-story building located at 1818 Carew Street. You can access Carew Street either from Lake Avenue or East State Boulevard. Parking is available in an attached garage. The vaccines are free. Children under age 18 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Anyone experiencing symptoms of influenza should stay home and contact a health care provider.
