FWCS appoints chief academic officer

The Fort Wayne Community Schools Board of School Trustees on Monday, Sept. 28, approved moving
Steven M. Cobb from chief operations officer to chief academic officer.

Cobb was hired in January to fill the chief operations officer position and prior to that had 32
years of experience in education serving as an assistant superintendent, principal and teacher. The
majority of his career was spent in Southwest Allen County Schools where he was a building principal
for 20 years.

As the chief academic officer, Cobb replaces Dr. Carol Lindquist who retired in August to take a
position at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. The district is now searching for a new
chief operations officer.
