Last Thursday, the Parks Board of Commissioners approved a one year extension to the Management Agreement of Headwaters Park with the Headwaters Park Alliance.
The Alliance is a non-profit agency that leases the park from the City and provides maintenance and management of the park throughout the year. Â Previous to this latest agreement, the agreements were 3 years in length. Â Thursday, the agreement approved was for only one year.
This will provide the opportunity to examine the arrangement and evaluate the continuance, revision or termination of the arrangement. Â It will be the first time in 10 years it will be examined. Â This is not being done because of poor management or fiscal mismanagement. Â City officials have repeatedly stated they are happy with the Headwater Park Alliance’s performance with the park.
Below are two interviews. Â The first with Al Moll, Fort Wayne City Parks and Recreation Director and the second with Geoff Paddock, Headwaters Park Alliance Director.
