At the end of today’s press conference, Mayor Tom Henry talked about his recent trip to Takaoka, Japan, and Asia.
The trip to Takoaka was to take part in our Sister City’s 400th Anniversary Celebration.
Mayor Henry also revealed that he had met with officials from HuaiAn, in the Jiangsu province, People’s Republic of China.  Fort Wayne was chosen because of our transportation links.  There are some business clusters in Huai’an that have developed and exchange with them is being considered.  The industries include: Information Technology, steel industry and salt manufacturers.
According to the HuaiAn government website, they currently have Sister City relationships with:
- Belarus, Gomel
- Ikoma, Japan
- Lucca, Italy
- Vénissieux, France
- Wanju-Gun, Korea
- Yorba Linda, California, USA
