Allen County to Conduct Surplus Property Auction
Sale to be held Sept. 26 at County Institutional Power PlantAllen County government is making plans to auction off surplus equipment and other property on Saturday, September 26, beginning at 9 a.m. The auction will be held at Allen County’s Institutional Power Plant at 2116 Carroll Road. Interested bidders can make a preview inspection of the items to be auctioned on Friday, September 25, from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. and on the day of the sale beginning at 8 a.m.
“In previous years, the County auction has occurred in the spring,” said Robert Bolenbaugh, County Purchasing Director. “But this year, we decided to wait until autumn so that we would have enough items to make the auction worth our while.”
The auction features items that have been taken out of service by county government as well as property seized or recovered by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. Among the items will be desks, chairs, file cabinets, personal computers, cameras, shop machinery, power tools, hand tools, bicycles, mopeds, miscellaneous jewelry and other items. All sales are strictly cash at the time of the sale and all merchandise must be removed by the end of the sale day. Funds derived from the sale will be returned to government coffers through the County’s Sale of County-Owned Property Fund. The auction is being conducted by Harvey Auctioneers.
