FWCS invites parents to meet teachers, learn about school improvement plans

Fort Wayne Community Schools press release:

FWCS invites parents to meet teachers, learn about school improvement plans

Parents will have a chance over the next few weeks to visit their child’s school and learn more about what goes on in the building. At some schools, parents will have two opportunities to visit their child’s school. One visit will serve as a traditional back-to-school night with the opportunity to see their child’s classroom, meet their teacher and enjoy some social time at the school. The additional meeting offers parents a chance to hear more about the school’s improvement plans and what the staff is doing to make sure they are providing students with a rigorous and relevant education. For some schools, the meetings are required under Public Law 221, the state’s accountability law. Last year, Fort Wayne Community Schools began requiring all schools to host such meetings because the information is so valuable to parents.

Check back soon for a full schedule of back-to-school nights and PL 221 meetings. For more information about your child’s back-to-school night, contact your school.
