Charis House decisions this week

The proposed Charis House development on Fairmount Place faces two decisions this week.

The first is at the regular business meeting of the Fort Wayne Plan Commission.  This decision will be for approval of the site development plan heard at a public hearing last Monday.  The second decision will be in Thursday’s Board of Zoning Appeals meeting.

It is important to note that this is not a hearing on the design of the project, building materials or other compatibility issues, or whether Charis House should or should not be at this location.  This hearing is to review the determination of the Zoning Enforcement Officer that a group residential facility is a permitted use in the IN1 and IN2 zoning districts.

The notebook containing the staff report for this issue may be downloaded here.  The Charis House staff report begins on page 19.
