Get Green ’09 – 3/14/2009

The annual Greening of the St. Mary’s River will occur this Saturday.  There is a full compliment of events scheduled.  Flooding should not be a problem for the actual event, however the procession from the Headwaters to the Historic Wells Street Bridge might need rerouting. Full details will be available Saturday morning. If you’d like, check this blog and if I hear anything I will post the updated details here. In the meantime, here’s Saturday’s list of events:

Celebrating 9-years, this year’s Get Green promises to be the best yet.

Headwaters Park, West Pavilion

  • 8:30 a.m. – Patrons are invited to a “Green” breakfast with Music and Face painting
  • 10 a.m. – Procession to the Historic Wells Street Bridge along the Rivergreenway.
  • 10 a.m. – Historic Wells Street Bridge – 92.3 Live Feed, Fire truck pictures, Fort Wayne’s own Leprechaun, Food and Drink and T-shirt sales
  • 11 a.m. – River Greening begins

Noon – Parade

  • from Wells to Superior to Calhoun (.3 miles) back to Headwaters Park West Pavilion

Headwaters Park West Pavilion

  • Irish Stew catered by Club Soda, Cold beer by Mad Anthony’s including their new Maltese Irish Red and Music
  • 1:30 p.m. – Gold Coin Hunt
  • 2:00 p.m. – Lucky Charms Eating Contest
  • 3:30 p.m. – Strongman Competition
  • 5 p.m. – Dinner catered by Club Soda

Midnight – Bands

  • Bonafide, The Kegels, Key2Eden and Loose Change; Raffle Prizes will be given away
