Road updates for 8 A.M. Wednesday
Some roads reopening as water recedesThe following streets have reopened as water has receded:
North Anthony from the Maumee River to Lake Avenue including Cody Avenue, Columbia Avenue at North Anthony Boulevard and Delta Boulevard
Ardmore from Covington to Taylor
Calhoun south of Baker
Sherman BoulevardThe following sections of roadway are now closed:
Harry Baals Drive from Coliseum to Parnell
Winchester Road from Bluffton to Airport Expressway (open to local traffic only)Remaining closed:
Catalpa between West Jefferson Boulevard and Taylor Street
North River Road between Landin and Maysville roads
Calhoun and Tillman
Pauline Street between Hale and TaylorDrivers are encouraged to use alternative routes to avoid these areas until further notice. Do not attempt to drive through standing water.
Sand available for sandbags:
The City also has delivered sand and sandbags at the old Dimension Ford parking lot on West Jefferson Boulevard for residents in concerned about flooding at their properties to make their own sandbags. The Street Department has placed piles of sand and bags at these locations. Those making sandbags need to bring their own shovel.

Fire Department evacuating up to 12 houses at Daleview, Fernwood
Surface water in Fairfield Ditch risingThe City of Fort Wayne Fire Department with the assistance of 911 Communications and the Flood Control staff is evacuating up to 12 houses at the intersection of Daleview and Fernwood in Waynedale.
Firefighters are going door-to-door to the affected homes. The City is pumping the water in this area, but water is rising faster than the pumps can remove it. The Fairfield Ditch has overflowed from its banks.
