Local Company awarded Parkview Field furniture contract

Ideal Office Source has been selected to provide furniture for Parkview Field.  For more information, read their press release here:

Ideal Office Source of Fort Wayne recently completed installation of office furniture in the Fort Wayne TinCaps Baseball offices as part of a $150,000 contract to provide and install furniture for the new Parkview Stadium in downtown Fort Wayne, according to business owners Tom Williams and Gary Wohlwend. In addition to furnishing the TinCaps’ private offices, the local firm also provided and installed furniture for the team’s reception, conference, lobby and employee areas.

The TinCaps’ contract with the local company is for Ideal Office Source to provide approximately half the furniture required for Parkview Stadium, as well as the installation of all furniture for the entire project. Ideal Office Source soon will be furnishing the bar-style lounge and 16 private suites for Parkview Stadium, and providing and installing patio furniture for the stadium’s terrace areas and parking garage deck.

Installation of the stadium furniture will begin in mid- to late-March, according to Williams and Wohlwend, and will be completed before the TinCaps’ first home game on April 16. “It’s a great way to start out the year, and we are extremely excited to be part of the new stadium,” according to Williams. “For a local company like ours, it’s a monumental sale not only because of the notoriety of the TinCaps but also because it keeps the money in the local market and contributes to the area economy.”

The local businessmen believe Ideal Office Source was given the opportunity to bid on furnishing the new stadium because of its past relationship with the team. The company has been serving as the official office products provider for the TinCaps, according to Wohlwend, and “they have been wonderful people to work with.”

Office products comprise approximately 70 percent of the sales for Ideal Office Source, with office furniture and custom business printing as secondary offerings of the firm. Williams and Wohlwend purchased Ideal Office Source five years ago from its previous owners, for whom they had worked as employees prior to the sale. After assuming ownership of the firm, the two businessmen added office furniture to their line of products and created a furniture showroom in their headquarters at 525 Ley Road in Fort Wayne.

The owners have their sights on additional growth for Ideal Office Source and have been consulting with Jane Rich, a business advisor with the Northeast Indiana Small Business Development Center (SBDC), to prepare for the future of their company. “Jane helped us put a business plan and financial projections together into a comprehensive package to present to banks,” according to Wohlwend.
