On January 20, 2009, Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States.  Those unable to make the trek to Washington D.C. may join friends and fellow Obama supporters in several activities around the Fort at various times.  Following is a chronological listing.  If you would like to have your event included or know of some changes, please e-mail me at the address below.  Also, if you are planning on attending one of the listed events, it is best to contact the person in charge before heading out.  A lot of these events seem to be in flux with plans changing by the minute.  Thanks to Dan Jehl for his input and assistance!

This event will be at the Come2Go Ministries building located at 343 W. Baker Street.  Several large screens, cable access and an incredible sound system will allow everyone to great seat and experience the DC festivities almost as if you were there. The event will run from 10:00am-2:00 pm.   There is no charge to get in and the hosts (ACDP and MoveOn.Org) will provide free coffee and rolls in the morning. We will offer a light lunch for a very modest price of $2.  (Likely Hot Dog/Chips/Tea etc and/or Pizza/Chips/etc) at 11:30.

AroundFortWayne will be in attendance and provide up to 3 minutes for anyone who would like, to record on video their thoughts and reflections on this historic Inauguration.  The videos will be uploaded to the AFW Blog’s YouTube section for viewing by the public.

You can watch the pre-inauguration programs, the swearing-in and the acceptance speech LIVE in this great venue.

Please join us for the entire event or come on your lunch hour.
