The Parking Deck at Harrison Square almost took a hit Thursday when construction workers dug into a gas main. Â This seems to be a growing epidemic in the Fort as this past year has seen two such strikes, one of which was in the Ardmore/Taylor Avenue area. Â Those didn’t result in fire, although this one did shooting flames 20 to 30 feet in the air for approximately an hour. Â These can be noisy events as the natural gas rushes out of the pipeline break. Â Luckily, no one was injured and the only damage appears to be in the surrounding dirt of the structure. Â Unluckily, I was at work during the break and didn’t have a chance to photograph the incidence.
