Historic Wells Street Bridge Lighting Project

Historic Wells Street Bridge lighting project

One of the more exciting items coming up this week will be a press conference releasing details of a lighting project for Fort Wayne Indiana’s Historic Wells Street Bridge. The above rendering is of the project at dawn. I will post details from the press conference next week after it happens.

Anyone wishing to donate should make a check to “Board of Park Commissioners” with a note stating it is for the Wells Street Bridge lighting fund. Mail the check to the Wells Corridor Business Association @ 1307 N. Wells St., Fort Wayne, IN 46808 or drop off donations @ Great Panes Glass, same address or G I Joe’s on Wells. This is tax-deductible because it is part of the Parks.

Did you know?

  1. It is last standing Iron Truss Bridge in Fort Wayne.
  2. In 1986, the bridge was studied for the possiblity of a hotel to be built on it’s deck.
