The Harrison: 10 Down 20 To Go

According to today’s Journal Gazette and Ben Lanka, Jim Irwin of Barry Real Estate reports that 10 condos have been sold, leaving 20 more to go before financing can be secured.

One of the initiatives being offered is a discount on the purchase price. (I wonder if the same discount will be offered retroactively to the previous 10 owners?)

[…] “We are certainly offering preconstruction pricing right now,” Irwin said.

He said discounts are offered on a case-by-case basis and people would need to call the project’s new real estate agent, Coldwell Banker Roth Wehrly Graber, for further details.

[…] He said Coldwell Banker is by far the largest residential broker in town with the most staff and resources. He said the split with Martin was amicable.

[…] John Bellio, Coldwell broker, owner and president of sales, said he planned to promote the project through the Homes magazine, the company’s Web site and listing The Harrison on three multiple listing services in northern Indiana that reach more than 2,500 real estate agents.

[…] Greg Leatherman, city executive director of redevelopment, said he was glad Barry was making changes to increase the marketing of the project. He said increasing the number of real estate agents working on The Harrison should help sell condominiums.

“We’re all concerned about it,” he said. “We want it to happen, and we want it to happen now, … but we are pleased with the changes.”

Leatherman said the city also supported the change in pricing for the condominiums. He said it was unfair to blame the slow sales exclusively on the poor economy, but it has played a part.
