Today, Jim Schellinger, Democrat Gubernatorial Primary Candidate, held a rally at Foster Park. The rally was hosted by Former Fort Wayne Mayor Graham Richard and current Mayor Tom Henry who spoke briefly. City Clerk Sandy Kennedy was in attendance. She took some good natured ribbing as, “The one to know – and you must know her – in Fort Wayne.” Also in attendance was Allen County Democrat Party leader Mike Bynum and Indiana State Representative Phil GiaQuinta.Â
Mr. Schellinger was an hour late for the event, having driven up from Marion. He acknowledged the endorsements of the Mayors and thanked each. He spoke briefly, but his comments and ire were directed at current Governor Mitch Daniels. Unfortunately, the wind was sweeping through at a pretty good pace and ruled out making an audio recording of the comments. Mr. Schellinger didn’t really touch on specific issues. I was welcomed warmly to the event and offered the chance to ask Mr. Schellinger questions, which I declined as I wasn’t attending for that.
