On Monday, March 10, 7:15 p.m., at the Downtown Library (Meeting Room C), there will be a meeting of citizens and local officials with the topic of making local government more accessible. The purpose of the meeting/s (there may be more than one) is to develop a list of actions that local government can take in this respect.
The meeting was initiated by a letter from Public 1 to the Fort Wayne City Council and Mayor Henry suggesting an open government board (perhaps it should be called a task force since it would be short-term). Several City Councilmembers agreed this was a good idea so we have scheduled this meeting.
Invitations have also been issued to other local elected officials beyond the City of Fort Wayne, and we have received RSVP’s from two County officials (that I am aware of).
This undertaking will be considerably more productive if you attend, so please join us!
