According to the Board of Zoning Appeals, the variance request for the Gen Comm/Centennial Tower near GE along Broadway has been officially withdrawn. This does not preclude them from possibly reintroducing the issue at a later date, but it is no longer on the February agenda. Congratulations to the West Central Neighborhood Association for organizing opposition to the variance. Also, congratulations to the Board for grilling Gen Comm/Centennial about their proposed tower at 3428 St. Joe Center Road. This set the stage for what could have been a contentious hearing in the Broadway matter if Gen Comm had not withdrawn the matter. Heads up, however as something tells me Gen Comm will be back.
